Sahar Rizvi Mansoor, a Certified Health Coach and Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor, is the founder of Cleveland Masala. When she first came to the U.S., she didn’t know how to cook traditional Indian meals. In fact, she didn’t know how to cook at all! During a time when a quick video call across oceans wasn’t available, Sahar taught herself to cook. Today, Sahar understands that food is the biggest connection to our family, to our people, and to ourselves. Most of all, she realized, in sharing her food values, our relationship with food and our bodies is missing in many of our lives. This led her to Ayurveda, an ancient medicine system that focuses on mind, body, and spirit. While practices like yoga focus on the body and meditation for the mind, not as many resources focus on the impact that food has on all three.
